Meet Dr. David Nisenboym, DDS
Dr. David Nisenboym is the owner and dentist at Blue Wave Dental in Walnut Creek, California. He provides personalized care built on trust, taking time to understand each patient’s needs and help them feel comfortable with their treatment decisions.
His background includes advanced training in general dentistry, experience teaching dental students, and clinical work spanning restorative dentistry, dental implants, oral surgery, and other areas of care. For Dr. David, the most rewarding part of dentistry is helping patients smile with confidence and enjoy the ability to chew and function comfortably.
Education and Advanced Dental Training
Dr. David earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco in 2013. Before dental school, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, Davis, with an emphasis in neurobiology, physiology, and behavior and a minor in Russian.
After graduation, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the Pascua Yaqui Dental Clinic in Tucson, Arizona. There, he gained experience providing comprehensive care, including crowns and bridges, root canal treatment, dental implant placement and restoration, oral surgery, and removable dental prosthetics.
Clinical Experience and Teaching
Dr. David has worked in private dental practices in Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, and San Francisco. He became the owner of his Walnut Creek practice in 2018.
From 2015 to 2017, he also served as an instructor of Integrated Reconstructive Dental Sciences at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. Teaching future dentists gave him another way to share his knowledge while continuing to develop his own approach to patient care.
Why Dr. David Chose Dentistry
Dr. David’s interest in dentistry began when he observed a family friend perform an extraction at age 17. Later, seeing how dental implants helped his grandmother support her denture showed him how profoundly dental treatment could affect someone’s confidence and everyday life. Those experiences inspired him to pursue a career helping others restore their smiles and oral health.
Care Beyond the Dental Office
Dr. David has also demonstrated a strong commitment to community service, providing dental care to patients with limited incomes and offering oral health education to children and parents through Pascua Yaqui outreach. Dr. David is also pursuing his accreditation with the AACD (American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry).
Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son, surfing, swimming, practicing jiu-jitsu, and exploring new places to eat. He is fluent in Russian.
